Ambassador Houseboat is situated with in the world famous Dal Lake. The Houseboat can be accessed through a five-minute Shikara ride from the Hotel Welcome, situated on the right side of the Srinagar-Harwan road which runs along the bank of the lake.

Kashmir Trekking:
Kashmir the trekking season extends from July through September. Trekking in Jammu & Kashmir is of different kind, one may go for trekking for a week or for a day. People can not feel like they are away from the human life, even on hills the huts of Gujars can be seen made up of log of wood, they use to graze their sheeps on the lonely hills.
For trekkers, Kashmir is the ultimate paradise. The terrain from the Sona marg hills of kashmir to the rugged mountains of Ladakh is a geographer's delight. Nowhere in the world can one see so much change in geography in such a small distance: flora and fauna; Alpine pastures saddled among snow clad peaks with pure oxygenated air; high-altitude lakes of Kishensar, Vishensar and Gangabal full of trout. Your constant companions would be the nomadic shepherds - the Gujjars - the tough and sturdy mountain folk who can carry you on their back and still complete the trek in half the time and who claim to be descendants of Moses.
PAHALGAM TO KOLAHOI GLACIER :
SEASON: May to October.
DURATION: 6 NIGHTS.
GRADE: Moderate.
Stages: Pahalgam to Aru (11 km), Aru to Lidderwat (11 km), Lidderwat to Satlanjan (4 km), Satlanjan to Kolahoi to Lidderwat (14 km), Lidderwat to Am (11 km), Aru to Pahalgam (11 km).
Note: Ponies can be hired at Pahalgam or Aru. Basic supplies and food rations are available at Aru and Lidderwat. Aru and Lidderwat have accommodation.
SONAMARG TO HARMUKH KASHMIR LAKE TREK :
SEASON: June to October.
DURATION: 7 DAYS.
GRADE: Difficult.
Stages: Sonamarg to Nichinni (13 km), Nichinni to Kishansar (13 km), Kishansar to Gadsar, Gadsar to Megandob, Megandob to Gangabal, Gangabal to Naranag.
Note: Carryall provisions including food and fuel. Pack ponies are available at Sonarnarg. Obtain a fishing license from Srinagar. Acclimatise before attempting the trek. Hotels and rest houses at Sonamarg. Rest houses at Kangan and Wangat.
6 DAYS PAHALGAM TREK :
SEASON: May to October.
DURATION: 6 NIGHTS.
GRADE: Moderate.
Stages: Pahalgam to Aru (11 km), Aru to Lidderwat (11 km), Lidderwat to Satlanjan (4 km), Satlanjan to Kolahoi to Lidderwat (14 km), Lidderwat to Am (11 km), Aru to Pahalgam (11 km).
Note: Ponies will be hired at Pahalgam or Aru. A cook will travel with you. Aru and Lidderwat have accommodation.
